Observations

NamPower's financial year to June 2024 (the latest annual report that could be read), and the months for which a press report of the Namibia Statistics Agency's figures was found (January and August 2026). These are not a series. The annual and monthly figures use different denominators and are not reconciled.

How to read these figures
  • In FY2024 ZESCO was NamPower's largest import source. In the August 2026 figures Eskom's two supply points together account for about half of imports. A financial year and one month are not comparable, so this is not evidence of a shift.
Still unknown
  • NamPower's FY2025 import split; the 2025 annual report could not be opened.
  • The terms and expiry of NamPower's current supply agreement with Eskom. A 2022 press report says it was renewed for three years; a May 2026 press report says Eskom concluded or extended agreements with Namibia during the year. Neither gives terms.
